The Logistics Activities Zone in Veracruz starts operations.
The company HUTCHISON PORTS ICAVE, under the direction of Mrs. Susana Díaz Virgen, marked a precedent in the port history of Veracruz, by beginning operations on May 2, with the movement of empty containers for the Shipping Lines, within the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) facilities located in the new Port of Veracruz.
The group of workers from different areas involved in empty container logistics at the service of the shipping lines and customers, was given the task of coordinating everything necessary to receive the first containers in this yard already in full operation.
It is important to highlight that the installation in the ZAL corresponding to ICAVE has 9 hectares that will house 9 thousand TEUs, for the next 5 years.
This new capacity increases our current infrastructure by 20% of the area in the port of Veracruz, since it will be destined to the ZAL for the use of empty containers and the entire space of the Container Terminal will be assigned to full boxes.
The first stage of the new Port of Veracruz will begin operations at the beginning of 2019, it will have a modern port infrastructure that will optimize maneuvers in the port sector and account for more efficient operations.
Two gantry cranes arrived today, May 16, 2018 As part of the conditioning activities in this first phase of the construction of the new port of Veracruz.
